Blues Fest continued on Sept. 16th with performances by Ronnie Presley, Chris Harper, Snap Crow Legs, Ricky Rooker, Idle Americans, Angie Owens and Steve Wages and Bad Habit.
The day kicked off with a performance by Ronnie Presley who came over from Caraway to give us a great set. Ronnie has played at Blues Fest for several years but this year was his first solo performance. He has really developed a great one man show. He did a lot of his own material as well as some great covers.
Chris Harper, a Jonesboro singer/songwriter, also appeared on this day. This was Chris's first Blues Fest appearance and he did a great job. Chris used to stop by Hairy Larry's Place aka "Blues Alley" and entertain the crowd back in the mid 90s.
Snap Crow Legs are as unusual as their name. This was their second Blues Fest. The guys perform an eclectic repertoire with lots of great music from the 60s as a base. You can tell they enjoy what they're doing by the enegy they have on stage.
Ricky Rooker is a Blues Fest success story. When he first started playing at Sunday In The Park he was pretty new to performing. He's come a long way from then to now. This kid shines on stage. This was Ricky's third Blues Fest and we look forward to hearing him for years to come.
Idle Americans was on stage after Ricky Rooker. Idle Americans features guitar wizard and Blues Fest regular John Shepherd. He just keeps getting better. The band has an energy and drive that keeps Blues fans coming back for more. Vocalist and harmonica player Jeremy Burnett has stepped up to the job of fronting the band and does it with finesse.
Angie Owens and Blues Fest go way back. She's been a regular at Blues Fest for most of its history. Angie is a songwriter and does all original material. She is one of the hardest working gals out there. Her music always tells a story and the audience can tell it comes from the heart.
Steve Wages and Bad Habit are often billed as the hardest working band on the tour circuit. Steve puts on a dynamite show and seems to have an unlimited store of material. The band includes talented performers Brayden Byrd on bass and vocals and Billy Spence on drums and vocals.
