Delta Boogie Blues Fest held annually in Jonesboro will begin Sunday, Sept. 4 from noon until dark with jams and open mike performances. The day will also feature Hairy Larry and The Flying Hungarians, The Mudcats, Carl Holden and Bad Habit.
Blues Fest will continue the next three Sundays Sept. 11, 18 and 25. Each day’s performances start at noon.
Appearing on Sept 12 will be Carl Holden, Pastime Blue Grass, Hindsight, The Wolf Pack Band, Angie Owens and The Mudcats.
On Sept. 18 performers will include Shane, Chuck and Thomas, Paul Richardson and Cindy B., Serious Trouble, John Shepherd, Hairy Larry and The Flying Hungarians and Vision Tongue.
Sept. 25 is the last day of Blues Fest featuring performers Tabitha Copeland, Strong Medicine, Uncle Fred Wilson, The Big Creek Band, Suzanne Michell, Gage Country and T Horn Carnival. Fred and Suzanne are bringing Blind Boy White with them from Little Rock.
Blues Fest is held at the Craighead Forest Bandshell in Craighead Forest Park in Jonesboro. The bandshell is located on Access Road 6.
All performances are free. There is no seating at the bandshell. Bring lawn chairs or blankets for your comfort. Coolers and picnics are welcome. The site is handicapped accessible.
To reach Craighead Forest Park take the 1B or Southwest Drive exit from the 63 Bypass and follow signs to the park or to the nature center which is also located in the park. Once you enter the park follow the signs to the bandshell.
