About Mark D. Rose
Received my first guitar at age 8 and noodled around for a few years till studying with a teacher who showed me scales, modes, blues and Jazz. From there I was hooked all though my main love was instrumental Rock music in the vein of old school Shrapnel Records, I found a equal love for the blues and the cool smooth sounds of Miles Davis and other Jazz musicians. played my first solo guitar gig when I was 12 walking home from school one day and was approached by the owner of a small German Restaurant were I spent the next few sat. evenings playing to the customers from there I continued to practice every day focusing on theory articulation and speed. Then at age 15 I joined my first band as a Bass player in a top 40 cover band we played mixers, party's and shows of all sorts. It was at that time that I finally got my shot in a band at guitar I joined up with my older brother A bass player and formed our first of many bands together at the age of 16. For the next several years we played hundreds of shows from small party's to clubs and some smaller auditorium shows. taking a break from the band atmosphere. at age 22 I met a fellow guitar player who was interested in playing small guitar duo coffee shop gigs in the styles of Django Reinhardt and gypsy jazz. I learned alot and continued to grow as a musician and a artist at 24 I was approached by another friend who had just landed a record deal with a major record label out of Memphis as a country singer I was the acoustic guitar player for the Joshua Keener band were we played several larger auditorium shows as well as smaller functions for several years there after finally taking a break in my late 20's to re group re practice my skills and mature as a artist. I am currently working on my first solo CD dew out by the end of the year were I hope to show a full spectrum of emotion, articulation, soul and musicianship
