Billy Branch and The Sons of Blues are a hot Chicago Blues Band. Although not from the Mississippi Delta, Billy is heavily influenced by the music. He learned his chops from such blues harmonica legends as Big Walter Horton, James Cotton, Junior Wells and Carey Bell. If those are not enough credentials then add playing harp with Willie Dixon for six years.
Why Sons Of Blues? Because they were all sons of famous Blues artists. The original S.O.B.s consisted of Billy, Lurrie Bell, Freddie Dixon and Garland Whiteside.
Billy Branch is the founder of the Blues In Schools programs and remains passionate about the program. He travels around the country each year to bring the Blues to a new generation of performers.
