The Blues Heavyweights pull all ages of blues lovers out to boogie. Young and old alike come out to party with this dynamic and danceable band. The band has been paying their dues working across the Northeast Arkansas Delta for about two years now. Fans have found that Bruce and the Heavyweights smokin versions of old favorites and the band`s house rockin originals keep em coming back for more. This mix of old and fine new music alike has developed a loyal following among local blues lovers.
Bruce Page and the Blues Heavyweights have an extensive song list which ranges from Delta blues to Chicago blues. This list includes both classics from Muddy Waters, Howlin` Wolf, Little Walter, and B.B. King as well as original material. This combined with a show that has to be seen has put the band at the top of everyones favorite live blues band list.
Grady Broadaway lays down a blistering bass foundation with Mike Rinaldi pumpin and pounding drums as the rhythm machine. These two with their passionate style drive the band like a runaway train. Jim Drennens wailing harp provides a perfect compliment to Phil Hestands down and dirty, guitar licks. Bruce Page spices it up with his free spirited interpretations of standards and original compositions with velvety smooth vocal skills while offering up moments of pure brilliance on guitar.
So when you hear that Bruce Page and the Blues Heavyweights are playing near you, go see them and bring a helmet because they hit Heavy and don`t let up!
