Clifford the big red dog played to an overflow audience at the Children's Library in Jonesboro on June 3, 2004. Clifford is a cartoon regular on PBS stations nationwide and we watch him every day.
The show started with Ms. Kay reading Clifford The Big Red Dog to a whole gaggle of kids. Then she encouraged them to call for Clifford. They shouted his name so loud that it made Conley cry.
Tears were quickly forgotten when Clifford made his entrance. The kids lined up to meet Clifford, have their pictures taken, and get there books stamped with Clifford's paw print.
Hairy Larry took his regular posse, Lizard and The Con Man to see one of their favorite cartoon characters brought to life. The show was a big success promoting the Friends Of The Library Scholastic Book Fair and the Summer Reading Club.
