Cosmic Biscuit performs an eclectic variety of originals and covers of blues based music that captures the heart of all ages. They have an upbeat live show lead by one of the areas leading, if not only, female lead guitarist and vocalist, Kimi Griffin. Sharing dual lead on guitar and vocals is Keith Barnes “Cyclone” Sid Cottrell keeps things spiced up with his harmonica tones and backing percussion beats, along with lead and backing vocals. Rounding out the group is the rock-solid rhythm section of Jimmy Lynn on bass and Mike Norris on drums.
Kimi started playing the guitar at 12 years old. She heard the blues for the first time when she was 18, the music was an eight track of B.B. King and Bobby Bland, “Together Again Live”. She lived in Fordyce, Arkansas for 20 years and played with R&B,Soul and blues group, “The Razz Band” for 13 years only to move to Pulaski County in 1999. Keith Barnes played guitar for “Little Cooper and The Drifters” out of St. Louis, performing on Beale Street with seasoned blues man. Keith and Sid played together with two different blues bands “the Instigators” and “the Plank Spankers”, who were regularly on many bills with Kimi’s former band, playing the Pine Bluff Blues Fests, Cooks Family Reunion, Elks Club to name a few. On the drums is Mike Norris, originally from Dallas, TX who played stints with local Dallas jazz bands and metal bands. Playing bass is Jimmy Lynn, well-known bass player of the central Arkansas music scene, who has played for the bands, Blues DeVille and Liquid Groove Mojo. Collectively, as a group and with their former bands, they have performed with acts such as Bobby Rush, Johnny Taylor, Marvin Sease, Mel Waiters, Clarence Carter, Big Bill Morganfield, Little Milton, Denise LaSalle, Zac Harmon, Vernon Garrett, Kenny Wayne Sheppard, and Smokin Joe Kubek… and many more…
