David Coppa & Scrapple
David Coppa's music mastery has been heavily influenced by the royalty of Albert, B. B. and Freddy King, Louis Jordan and Stevie Ray Vaughan. The band writes many of their own songs and their release of "Storm" was just one example of their homage to those music monarchs that have paved their way for a new generation of blues artists.
These veterans of the Delaware Valley Blues circuit have played together for several years with rave reviews. Along the way they have perfected their own style of traditional and contemporary Blues with the likes of Papa John De Francesco and have backed up Bo-Diddly, Luther "Guitar" Junior Johnson, Peter Wolf (J. Giles Band) and opened for Clarence Gatemouth Brown, Bobby Radcliff, Kansas and Styx to name a few.
David Coppa & Scrapple have entertained at various Blues festivals including the Atlantic City Basin Blues Fest, Media Blues Stroll, Bandana Blues Festival in addition to numerous popular venues in the area and the East Coast.
These refined Blues-rockers continue to prove their sound and style is fresh and on the mark with addition of new songs and a mastery of the Texas style Blues. This high tempo trio features David Coppa on lead guitar and vocals, Patrick Coppa on bass and long time drummer Ray "Ban" Williams. The band plays a great mix of traditional favorites from “Hide Away” to “If You Love Me Like You Say” and gets the place rockin’ in a hurry. Spiced with searing guitar licks and a back beat with heat, this trio is a real crowd pleaser that will quench anyone’s appetite from shuffles to slow blues to boogie-woogie and powerful instrumentals. Flavored with hints of Texas Blues and ingredients of Hendrix in the mix, David Coppa & Scrapple are a Philly style staple with a sound recipe for success.
Anyone who has seen them says: "David Coppa is a must hear jaw dropping guitar Wizard whose music sizzles and never fizzles."
