Welcome to Something Blue. I'm Hairy Larry and I've got the Blues, for you.

And that was Derek Trucks singing "These Days" and introducing his guest stars. We'll continue with this concert in just a minute. Kickin us off tonight we heard Dumstaphunk playing "Living In A World Gone Bad". The entire show tonight was recorded live at a Christmas Jam on December 12, 2008 at the Asheville Civic Center in North Carolina. It must have been a great party.

You're listening to Something Blue on KASU and although I'm not playing Christmas music tonight it was all recorded at Warren Haynes Christmas Jam that I found by searching for Christmas on archive.org.

And you can find the Something Blue website at sbblues.com where we have scripts, links, and podcasts of the shows you can listen to anytime. You can also find KASU at kasu.org.

Continuing with the Derek Trucks Band set we'll hear Susan Tedeschi sing the Blues song "People". And then they do a song I first learned from Eric Clapton and Duanne Allman on Derek and the Dominoes. It's a great tune called "Anyday".

Here they are now, recorded live at Warren Haynes Christmas Jam.

frantibowman2008-12-13t07.wav - Say Hey

All right now, Michael Franti and Spearhead at the Christmas Jam. We heard "All I Want Is You" and "Say Hey". They've got a great sound mixing Blues and Jazz over a Reggae beat.

Next up we've got Keller Williams joined by members of the Yonder Mountain String Band doing a Dylan song, "Maggie's Farm"

Now that's funny. Keller Williams at the Christmas Jam singing "Porta Potty". If you spend much time at festivals you've been there.

Closing the show tonight we've got Dumpstaphunk with guest stars Tal Wilkenfeld, Eric Krasno, Warren Haynes, and Danny Lewis playing the Sly Stone song, "Thank You (Fa Lettin Me Be Mice Elf)". Until next time this is Hairy Larry reminding you once again, Blues is the mainstream.
