Welcome to Something Blue, This is Hairy Larry and I've got the Blues,
... for you.

play -

All right, that's J.T. Watkins singing "Knowing I Still Love You".
Kicking us off tonight we heard O.D. and the S.S.M. Band live at the
Saxophone Restaurant and Bar in Singapore. O'Donel Levy, the bandleader
sang one he wrote called "I'm in the Mood for Love". Then Lady Rebecca
Lilly sang the R&B classic "Respect". We met O.D. on the internet and he
sent us these live recordings for "Something Blue".

In fact this whole show is great recordings mostly available nowhere
else. The J.T. Watkins material was given to me by Ronnie Williams also
known as Black Oak Slim. Here's a couple more from J.T.s new CD "I Can't
Get Over You", we're going to hear "So What's Going On" and "One Step
From the Blues".

And that's Suzanne Michell accompanying herself three times on her
acapella version of "Hard Times". Suzanne is a regular performer at
Blues Fest and has been featured on Something Blue many times. She
produced "Hard Times" herself on a home mini-studio.

Now here's Kelly and Jean Pates with a couple of more tunes that Black
Oak Slim brought in.

play -

That's Kelly and Jean Pates singing a little bit of Rockabilly based
blues. Ronnie Williams also brought me some songs by Johnny Crocker.
These artists all perform in this area and if you are interested in them
contact Ronnie by email. His address is blackoakslim@rocketmail.com.

We're going to play a couple of the Johnny Crocker songs and then we're
going to feature Gary Sloan, aka Alaska Slim. Gary has played at Blues
Fest and has been featured on Something Blue with the Flying Hungarians.
These tapes were made in Belgrade, Yugoslavia where Gary was Arkansas'
ambassador for the Blues. So here we go with Johnny Crocker and then
Alaska Slim.
