All Right, and that's the West Finch Blues Band doing a little
Allman Brothers for you, "The Bell House Tolled". Before that
they did "Looking for Somebody". The West Finch Blues Band will
be at Blues Fest 93 at Craighead Forest Park on Sunday the day
before Labor Day. "Something Blue" recorded them July 31, 1993.
Personnel at the session were Mike Tuseth, vocals and guitar;
Larry Rothgery, lead and slide guitar; Jeff Ryan, rhythm guitar;
Terry Carter, saxophone; Jamie Coffey, harp; Keith Petrek, drums;
and Philip Jackson, bass. Also playing with the band but not at
the recording session are Andy Fulkerson, organ and Carter
Bridger, Congas. You may have heard some of the members in this
band playing with Cottonmouth when they opened for Lynyrd Skynyrd
at the Strand.
Before that we heard The Famous Unknowns doing the title cut of
their new CD called "Up Close and Personal". The Famous Unknowns
will not be at Blues Fest 93 but if you want to hear them they
play on Beale Street all the time. I saw them a Helena last year
and it's worth the trip to Memphis to see them.
And kicking us off tonight Mr. E.C. Brown singing "Hold it Right
There". This was recorded for "Something Blue" on June 8th,
1993. Musicians at the session were E.C. Brown, keyboards and
vocals; Dennis Scatia, sax; and Mike Overall, drums. You can see
E.C. Brown at Blues Fest 93 playing with Mike and Joe Lee. Let's
listen to a couple of more cuts from that session.

Yeah, Mr E.C. Brown playing the Jazz standard "All of Me" and
then the Blues standard "Let the Good Times Roll". Come on out
and see him at the Park, the day before Labor Day.
Now we're going to play a mini album we recorded of another band
that will be at the Blues Festival. The Band is named "The Blues
Dudes". You may have heard them at The Philosophy Shop. Playing
in the band are Jonathan Green, vocals and guitar; Terry Carter,
sax; Dan "The Man" Ferguson, bass; and Terry "Mojo" Riley, drums.
The first cut on this mini-album is a great B.B. King song,
"Every Day I Have the Blues".
