That's right, Blues Fest 93, Sunday September 5th, from Noon until Dark, at Craighead Forest Park, Pavilion One, out in the sun, Blues Fest 93, it's Free. Kicking us off tonight we heard Cliff Camarata play the "Hokey Organ Blues". Cliff will be featured in the Tribute to Stevie Ray Vaughn that starts the festival at 12:30. Playing with Jonathan were Terry Carter, sax; Dan "The Man" Ferguson, bass; and Tommy Riley, drums. A band and a song associated with Blues Fest 91 was Jonesboogie Blues doing "Further on Up the Road". They've moved on to become Aloysius but I still like this cut that we used to promote Blues Fest 91. play - Jonesboogie Blues, Further on Up the Road 4:25 Yeah, Perry Osborn, guitar; David Snell bass; Paul Richardson, piano; and Eric Johansen, drums. A blast from the past. Aloysius retains most of the band members from Jonesboogie Blues and adds Jeff Glover, trumpet and vocals. Be sure to come to the park Sunday afternoon to hear Aloysius. Cottonmouth was a hot band back in the seventies opening for Lynyrd Skynyrd and Styx. The core of the Cottonmouth band still plays together for fun and they have added Jamie Coffey, harp and Terry Carter, sax. They are now called The West Finch Blues Band. Let's listen to them play "Oh Pretty Woman". play - West Finch, Oh Pretty Woman 3:52 That's Larry Rothgery, guitar and Mike Tuseth, guitar and vocals playing "Oh Pretty Woman. This cut was recorded for Something Blue at the VFW and featured the Killer Possum Band; Terry Carter, sax; Philip Jackson, bass; and Mark Pungercar, drums. Rumor has it that Will Heiber will be rejoining the Killer Possum Band at Blues Fest 93. We had a great session last week with E.C. Brown, Mike Overall, and Joe Lee. Let's listen to a classic Billy Holiday blues now as E.C. sings "God Bless the Child". play - E.C. Brown, God Bless the Child/There Will... 8:36 And that's E.C. Brown singing "There Will Never Be Another You" accompanied by a great jazz band; Mike Overall, drums and Joe Lee, sax. If you were watching Scene Midday today you saw Aaron Love and his TV Band.
