This is Hairy Larry's tribute to the musicians in the Delta. The tape features three original vocal numbers; "Movin", "Won't Be Down Always", and "Mecca"; as well as standards like "Tin Pan Alley" and "Born in Chicago".
Joining the Flying Hungarians on this album are Terry "Cartosa" Carter, Scott "Scarfish" Mathis, Al "Lone Wolf" Mayes, Lana, Hiro, Larry Rothgery, and Cliff "The Tiny Cowboy" Cammarata.

About half of this tape was recorded for "Something Blue" at the VFW in Jonesboro, Arkansas. The Killer Possum Band was cooking and Larry Donn was joined by Swedish Rockabilly star Wildfire Willie. The rest of the songs were provided by Larry Donn and include some work from the sixties with Sonny Burgess that has never had a commercial release.
Originals by Hairy Larry as well as classic blues the Hungarians are joined by Frank Frost, Larry Rothgerry, Cliff Cammarata, Leon McEntire, Perry Osborne, Terry Carter, Lorie Sheppard, and the Voices of Melody.

Fine songs written and performed by Willie Lee Riley and first aired on "Something Blue" December 9, 1995. Riley is backed by Bix Smith, guitar; Uldis Heyl and Larry Heyl, bass; and John "Street" Sifford, drums. Lanelda George joins Will singing a sweet love song, "Just You and I". His songs range from Blues and Country Blues to "Rockabilly Shoes" where Willie and Hairy Larry humorously exchange lyrics about each other.
The songs on this tape were recorded at Hairy Larry's in Jonesboro, Arkansas during January of 1996. They were first aired January 27, 1996 on KASU, 91.9 FM. I selected these songs because I felt they carried some of the excitement these performers brought live to Hairy Larry's. This tape features performances by:

The Biscuit Hounds were kicking butt and taking names February 17, 1996 at Hairy Larry's in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Selections from their set were featured on "Something Blue" on March 9, and are now available on this tape. These guys definitely put a hard edge on contemporary Delta Blues showing a substantial Texas influence.

John Shepherd and the Houserockers were Rockin' the Juke Joint Down at Hairy Larry's in Jonesboro on February 24, 1996. John Shepherd from Wynne, Arkansas was joined by Little Rock Bluesmen Earl Triplett on bass and Charlie Macom, drums. Terry Carter, from Jonesboro, played sax on "Little Sister" and "The Dream". John Shepherd has been a regular at Blues Fest and has been featured on "Something Blue" many times in the past.

Like all American popular music Sweet Water Groove's sound is blues based. They are also influenced by Ozark string music, Jazz, American Indian music, Folk, Heavy Metal, counter culture Rock and Roll, and many other styles creating an eclectic blend I call Celtic Reggae. Recorded at Hairy Larry's during March and April of 1996 and first aired on "Something Blue" April 27, 1996 these songs were all written by members of Sweet Water Groove. They are Jeff Payne, bass; Trevor Kitchen, Ryan, Singleton, and Lance Mitchell, guitars; and Uldis Heyl, drums. Tim Hoggard adds blues harp to the sound on "Indian Black Root" which was recorded as part of a Blues Alley video documentary.

We recorded Andy Cohen April 19, 1996 at Hairy Larry's in Jonesboro. Andy is a student of the Reverend Gary Davis and a Coffeehouse and Festival veteran. He was joined by David Evans (guitar and vocals) and Hairy Larry (harp) on "Black Cat Bone". Andy is an expert on Blues Fingerpicking styles and a multi-instrumentalist who plays guitar, piano, banjo, fiddle, mandolin, and dulciola.
Suzanne Michell and Fred Wilson A.K.A. Uncle Fred the Dead Head performed at Hairy Larry's on June 21 and 22, 1996. This show features original songs "Welcome Home" and "Space and Time" by Suzanne as well as two humorous songs by Uncle Fred, "Won't you Give Me Back my Change" and "Mrs. Eloise Murphy"
Suzanne also performed a stand out Jazz set with; "God Bless the Child", "Stardust", and "Sonny gets the Blues". Bix Smith joined Suzanne on "Stardust".
Recorded by the Flying Hungarians at Hairy Larry's in Jonesboro during the first half of 1996 this album features special guests Brian Browder, Jay Johnson, Jonathan, Johnnie Billington, and Adam Gussow. The songs are mostly Blues Classics with a couple of original instrumentals written by Hairy Larry.
