Our friend Rusty Youngblood suffered a stroke last month. He is recovering but he has a long road in front of him and he and his wife have financial needs now. His friends in Coldwater, Mississippi and surrounding towns are putting on a benefit for Rusty. This is a really good cause and it's also going to be a great party. I encourage you to come and help out as you can.
There will be food and live music. Bring your own beverages. And don't forget, food.
Admission is
$10 for BBQ
$20 for crawfish
All You Can Eat!
When you pay your admission that will help Rusty. When you make a donation that will help Rusty. And when you sing, dance, or party that will help Rusty feel better knowing you're having a good time while you're helping him.
Because Rusty is all about having a good time. He is a Blues fan and a regular at the Helena campground during "The Biscuit".
Rusty worked hard all his life and has helped many people in their time of need. Now that he's in need let's go all out for him.
Headlining the show will be Backdraft Revisited in a special reunion appearance. Don't miss this chance to see this great band playing together again. Musicians are Gary Whitworth, Rodney Willhite, Ronnie Lipe, Michael Davis, Chuck Smart.
Other music scheduled so far includes Terry Bailey, Andrew Hancock, Pat Sullivan, Hairy Larry from Jonesboro, Arkansas, and Colonel Robert Morris from Senatobia, Mississippi. Other bands to be arranged. There will also be open mic and a Blues jam session so musicians bring your instruments and be ready to play.
The benefit is on April 21, 2007 from 2:00 pm until 10:00 pm at 300 Hardin Lane. To get to the site take 306 east from Coldwater for 1/2 mile. There will be a sign at the intersection. Turn right. The benefit is 1 mile on the left. Look for a sign and a stage and, of course, food.
Bring your beverage of choice and a lawn chair. There's a big indoor barn if it rains.
