Flying Hungarians
are the house band at
Hairy Larry's
in Jonesboro and host the regular Friday night jam sessions. These
songs, recorded in 1996 feature special guests Brian Browder, Jay
Johnson, Jonathan, Johnnie Billington, and Adam Gussow.

Andy Cohen, Suzanne Michell (BA 135)
We recorded Andy Cohen April 19, 1996 at
Hairy Larry's
in Jonesboro. Andy is a student of the Reverend Gary Davis and a
Coffeehouse and Festival veteran. He was joined by David Evans (guitar
and vocals) and
Hairy Larry
(harp) on "Black Cat Bone".
Suzanne Michell
and Fred Wilson A.K.A. Uncle Fred the Dead Head performed at
Hairy Larry's
on June 21 and 22, 1996. This show features original songs by both
Suzanne and Fred as well as a stand out Jazz set sung by Suzanne; "God
Bless the Child", "Stardust", and "Sonny gets the Blues".
Bix Smith joined Suzanne on "Stardust".

6-15-96 Bix Smith, Jay Johnson
Bix Smith entertained us at Hairy Larry's on May 25, 1996. His set ranged
from Hillbilly and Country Blues to Jazz with a steady dose of humor
thrown in. For most of his set it was just Bix and his guitar although
he is joined by Uldis Heyl, bass, and John "Street" Sifford, drums on
the closing instrumental.
Jay Johnson joined Hairy Larry and the Flying Hungarians at Hairy Larry's
on June 1, 1996. Jay is a cooking blues guitarist from Eldorado,
Arkansas. Featured vocalists are Jay Johnson, Brett Sparks, Hairy Larry,
and Bruce Page.

John Weston, a bluesman and songwriter from
Brinkley, Arkansas came to Jonesboro April 20, 1996 to play at the ASU
Blues Symposium and at
Hairy Larry's.
Backed by slide guitarist Mark Simpson and his daughter Karla this show
presents his deep Delta roots and his fine humor expressed in his songs.
John Weston has CDs out on Fat Possum, Apaloosa, and Shade Tree.
