The last Sunday of Blues Fest brought considerable talent to the bandshell. Performing were Skydancer, Uncle Fred Wilson, The Mudcats, Suzanne Michell, and Big Creek Band.
This was Skydancer's first appearance at Blues Fest although guitarist Dave Summers has played the fest on several occasions. The guys turned in a great performance.
Fred Wilson is a Blues Fest regular who never fails to entertain the audience. A fantastic range of classic accoustic blues plus his own original tunes adds up to a dynamite performance.
Following Uncle Fred was The Mudcats. The Mudcats is the house band at Blues Fest and one of the regular jam bands backing vocalists and guest jammers at the festival.
Suzanne Michell began playing Blues Fest in 1991. She has been a real trooper ever since, braving the hot Arkansas sun, mosquitos, and the various incarnations of Blues Fest stages from pavillion stages to flat bed trucks. No one was happier than Suzanne to see the bandshell go up.
The day closed with Big Creek Band. Front man Dennis Mathes is a music veteran of 50 years. Dennis is multi-instrumental and plays a mean slide guitar.
The day opened and closed with jam sessions. Blues Fest always includes jams on the schedule and musicians and vocalists are invited to participate at the festival each Sunday.
