Hairy Larry and George Hinds have performed together countless times at Sunday In The Park and Blues Fest, but last fall they teamed up and began performing as a duo.
Their music is thick and rich with wonderful overtones of jazz and blues. There's always a surprise or two and they don't hesitate to try something new. They put their own interpretations on some wonderful old standards but they're not above a few pop numbers and they can sink down into the delta farmland for some country too.
Both are innovative musicians as well as lyricists and they often perform original tunes. The two have a tremendous amount of musical experiences to draw from and together they have a unique performance style that pleases their audiences.
George Hinds has a reputation as one of the best bass guitarists in Northeast Arkansas. Mention his name and everyone knows it. He can also pick up a guitar and continue to wow audiences. George will fearlessly deliver a classic jazz tune then follow it with a Harry Nilsson number.
Hairy Larry is not only a prolific songwriter he is also a talented performer and well-known producer. Larry produced and recorded an original radio program "Something Blue" which aired on KASU for ten years. His music is heard all over the world and he continues to branch out into new performance venues.
They are currently enjoying performing at local coffee houses and other small venues. The music is closeup and personal and the audiences often get in on the act. There's nothing like an evening spent in their company to make you feel good.
