The 2005 Sunday In The Park began May 8 with open mike jams hosted by Hairy Larry and The Flying Hungarians and The Mudcats.
Along with music from the Hungarians and Mudcats the day saw several jam sessions and the crowd stayed even through a brief rain shower.
Carl Heyl, bassist for the Hungarians, brought guitarist Brandon Riga of Faithful Cry to the bandshell to jam.
Also jamming along were Ricky Rooker, Sr., Ricky Rooker, Jr. and Aaron McCrory. These guys also joined a jam session during last years Blues Fest. There are jam sessions between the sets each Sunday and musicians are invited to come out and perform. The performers are always glad to encourage young talent.
