All Right Everybody, Bebop Beatniks May 24, 2025   Paul Lessard and Eliecer Tamez Bebop Beatniks New Jazz In Jonesboro May 24, 2025 Brookland United Methodist Youth Building Brookland, Arkansas For the first time ever Bebop Beatniks are joined by Jazz Buskers for three vocal numbers at the end of their set. In April Jazz Buskers played at New Jazz In Jonesboro. Adding the Bebop Beatniks rhythm section and, of course, Paul Lessard on alto sax was the icing on the cake. Since I started playing with Jazz Buskers at the end of last year it's been a dream of mine to add Bebop Beatniks to create a large ensemble with three vocalists and two horns. Sometimes dreams come true. I wrote the first four songs. "White Rats And Meerkats" this year and "Gotta Lotta" in the late twentyteens. "Malaysia" and "Colossus" were both played by NJHB during the first season of New Jazz In Jonesboro in 2013. I wrote them in 2012. It was a pleasure to have Matt Jackson, the original NJHB bass player with us 12 years later, in 2025.
