Sunday In The Park got off to a great start this year with a sunny sky and a warm breeze. The jam session that kicked off the show included many familiar faces including guitarists Carl Holden, Mike "Zif" Lovell and Ricky Rooker. Also jamming were Billy "Maddog" Beebe on harmonica, Randy Gambill on drums,Carl Heyl on bass and Hairy Larry on rhythm guitar, harmonica, and vocals. The jam session also included new faces, Melody, Randy, and Gloria.
David Luna and his son Kyle performed as a duet. Kyle has performed with his dad in years past and we are enjoying watching this young talented musician grow and mature.
Mike McLeod always delivers a stellar performance. His repatoire includes many original songs as well as great arrangements of well known country, rock and roll, and blues tunes.
Closing the show was The Mudcats, who have become the house band for the Sunday In The Park concerts. The core group over the years has consisted of Hairy Larry, George Hinds and Randy Gambill. The Mudcats are a jam band and always invite others to join the group on stage. By the end of the evening the stage was full and the audience was enjoying some fine musical talent.
