Allison Trail Head

It starts here ...

At Allison take Highway 14 across the South Sylamore. Just across the bridge the first right is into a corral and has a metal gate. Pass that. The next right leads to the trail head. A winding gravel road leads down to a meadow by the river with a brown Forestry sign. In the far corner you will see an Arkansas pass through.

Walking toward the river you'll see this intricately spiraled ring. A series of boulders has been placed in the river to make a bridge.

Less than 1/2 mile from the car this enormous cliff towers over a circular council hall, built by the falls during wet weather.

Natural seating for hundreds surround a circular hearth in natural rock as flat as a tile floor.
